A relentless, two-part action thriller movie franchise has officially taken the top two spots on streaming, the next stop on its long road to success. Action franchises have maintained a strong presence on streaming across various platforms. From the likes of Jeremy Renner's Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters to multiple movies in the Fast & Furious franchise, there always appears to be something new for fans of the genre on top of streaming. Such is the case with two action movies that have been slowly growing in popularity.
These films are the One Mile duology. Both released earlier this year, One Mile: Chapter One and One Mile: Chapter Two tell the story of former special forces operative Danny Beckett (Ryan Phillipe), who finds himself back in the fray after his daughter, Alex (Amélie Hoeferle), is kidnapped by a violent group of people. The films follow his quest to find her and bring her home, tearing down anyone that gets in his way. Other notable stars in the 2026 action movies include C. Thomas Howell, Sara Canning, Sage Linder, Beverly Elliot, and Phil Burke among others.
Both Movies Are Streaming On Paramount+
Both One Mile: Chapter One and One Mile: Chapter Two are streaming on Paramount+, both films having been available worldwide on the platform for quite some time. However, only now are the movies starting to make a massive swing on the platform, quickly climbing the rankings. According to data from October 22, 2026, One Mile: Chapter One is the Number 1 movie on Paramount+ in the United States, with One Mile: Chapter Two following close behind at Number 2. This puts the films above popular, new releases, like 2026's Scary Movie, alongside classics, like Rush Hour.
The films' global availability has afforded them worldwide streaming success as well. As of writing, Chapter One is Number 9 worldwide on the streaming platform, while Chapter Two sits above it at Number 8. While the franchise's success is mostly because of viewership in the United States, there's still a strong layer of support for the two action movies around the world. It also proves the movies' simple but effective premise is leaving plenty on the edge of their seats.
One Mile Is The Perfect John Wick Replacement
What makes One Mile stand out from the crowd is the high-octane action sequences that feel right out of more popular franchises. The way the action plays out is comparable to the John Wick movies, with plenty of run-and-gun action. It helps that the heroes are defined with a clear nobility to them, with Beckett's actions being for the sake of saving his daughter from those that wish her harm. Both One Mile movies lean into this as the action plays out, with a storyline that follows through on itself between both installments.
Question 1 of 3
The action movies have resonated with clarity in the United States, considering just how popular both films have become on Paramount+. There's a consistency to the action and characters that makes the movies engaging enough to justify their popularity. With the two films only just reaching the top two spots in the US after spending plenty of time on the platform, it seems like the One Mile movies have a bright future ahead of them.
