Winning Champions League Trophy Our Main Goal This Season —Barcelona President Laporta

Barcelona president Joan Laporta, ​​has outlined the club’s main sporting objective for the season, stating that winning the UEFA Champions League title is the club’s main goal.

“Our goal is to win the Spanish league title for the third consecutive time. We also aim to defend the domestic cup title. Furthermore, we want to win the Super Cup to make a statement midway through the season and show that we are here to win La Liga.

“And, of course, we want to win the Champions League. I would say the Champions League is the main goal,” AS quotes Laporta as saying (via News.am).

In the first round of the Champions League, Barcelona kicked off their quest for a first Champions League title since 2015 with a dominant 5-1 win against Dutch club Feyenoord today (Wednesday).

A brace from Raphinha, and a goal each from Lamine Yamal and summer signings Gabriel Jesus, Karim Adeyemi, sealed the comfortable win for the La Liga giants.

Barcelona are among the genuine title contenders and one of the stronger sides, with a clearer path to the latter stages than in some recent seasons.

Models favour Arsenal and Bayern more strongly for the trophy, but form, squad talent (especially the attack and midfield), and Hansi Flick’s setup make a deep run—and a realistic outside shot at lifting the trophy—entirely plausible.
