Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill had a disappointing outing in the third ODI against West Indies today.
India captain Shubman Gill and talismanic No. 3 Virat Kohli fell in the same over as West Indies landed two early blows in the third ODI in New Chandigarh on Saturday.
Gill managed only a single, edging a short Jayden Seales delivery down the leg side into the hands of a diving Shai Hope behind the stumps. Kohli followed for a duck, beaten by a full delivery that held its line and crashed into the middle stump.
India was suddenly reeling, with two of its premier batters back in the pavilion before the scoreboard had moved into double figures.
Both Gill and Kohli had been in sublime form in the series. Gill had struck a century and a double hundred, while Kohli also smashed a hundred in the first ODI, becoming only the second batter after Sachin Tendulkar to cross 15,000 runs in the format in the process.
