Napolcom probes 2 Laoag cops for alleged counterflowing during traffic
SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — The National Police Commission (Napolcom) is probing two Laoag City cops who were caught allegedly counterflowing at a roundabout on Sept. 19.
In a statement on Friday (Sept. 25), the Napolcom office in the Ilocos region said the two officers have been identified and were issued traffic citation tickets.
This comes after the incident was captured on video and circulated on social media.

The two cops were also relieved from the Laoag City Police Station pending administrative proceedings.

Napolcom said it is coordinating with the police and will take appropriate action, with due regard to due process.
The commission reminded police personnel to uphold discipline, professionalism, integrity and respect for the law.
It stressed that their conduct should reflect the standards expected of the members of the police force.
It also said violations that can undermine public trust should be addressed through proper administrative processes.
