Cayetanos back from Singapore

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano and his sister Sen. Pia Cayetano returned to the country on Saturday from Singapore.

The former Senate president announced their return in a Facebook post on Saturday night. He said during a Facebook live on Sunday that it was a “routine” trip.

The Bureau of Immigration confirmed that the two senators left the country on Wednesday. Cayetano is facing an investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Ombudsman over alleged irregularities in the country’s hosting of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, where he served as chair of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee.
