‘Rules Of Prey’ Rounds Out Series Regular Cast With Peter Outerbridge, Cody Ray Thompson & David Klein

Translate

EXCLUSIVE: Peter Outerbridge (Neagley, I Will Find You), Cody Ray Thompson (The Umbrella Academy) and David Klein (Overcompensating, 56 Days) round out the series regular cast for Rules of Prey, MGM+‘s upcoming crime thriller series. The trio join previously announced series regulars Jensen Ackles, Lucy Fry and Amanda Brugel.

Created by Bruce Terris (DTF St. Louis), based on the first novel in John Sandford’s Prey book series, the series follows Lucas Davenport (Ackles), formerly a detective in the Minneapolis Police Department, drawn out of seclusion back into law enforcement to investigate a series of confounding murders designed to send a message specifically to him. When an ingenious serial killer begins murdering Minneapolis citizens, Davenport, a brilliant polymath and unconventional investigator, takes the case, sparking an intense psychological duel with an equally intelligent adversary. As Davenport deciphers the killer’s twisted moral code and personal vendetta, he must match wits with a predator operating by his own rules of justice, risking everything to stop a killer who sees their conflict as the ultimate game.

Outerbridge will play Sloan, a veteran, married to the job Minneapolis Police Department Detective who has given everything, maybe too much, to the job.

Thompson portrays Louis, an overworked, seemingly geeky legal researcher who’s exceptional at his job and resentful that others aren’t.

Klein is Peter, a green, overconfident Minneapolis Police Department Detective desperate to establish his dominance.

From MGM Television and Take 5 Productions, the eight-episode season of Rules of Prey is created by Emmy award-winning writer-producer Terris, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside executive producer Charles Gogolak and Matt Leipzig for Modern Literary Arts. Howard Braunstein, Michael Jaffe, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra and John Weber also executive produce. John Sandford serves as co-producer. Daniel Sackheim directs the pilot and episode two and serves as executive producer.

Rules of Prey will premiere on MGM+ in the U.S., United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile.

Outerbridge currently recurs in Prime Video’s Reacher spinoff Neagley; and appears in Canadian psychological thriller series Bet, streaming on Netflix. He also can be seen in I Will Find You and in the latest season of AMC’s The Vampire Lestat. He’s repped by OAZ and manager Perry Zimel.

Thompson is maybe best known for his portrayal of Dave in Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy. His television credits include Under the Banner of Heaven, Mrs. America and The Man in the High Castle among others. On the film side, he appeared in Oscar-winning The Shape of Water, Robert Lee’s Empyrean and genre feature Antisocial. He’s repped by Ambition Talent in Toronto.

Klein made his feature debut in A24’s Dream Scenario, and will next be seen opposite Georgina Campbell in the indie drama The Fallers. He recently recurred in Prime Video’s Overcompensating and 56 Days, with guest turns on Brilliant Minds, Boston Blue, and Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen. Klein is repped by Play Management, Untitled Entertainment, and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols.
