Israir UAE rescue flight canceled after failure to receive Emirati approval

Translate

An Israir rescue flight set to depart Dubai for Tel Aviv on Thursday was canceled after the airline failed to secure the necessary approvals from Emirati authorities, N12 News reported Tuesday.

According to the report, the flight's passengers received a notice from the Israeli airline informing them of the cancellation, with Israir stating that it is "doing everything possible to examine the possibilities of maintaining the flight as planned or finding an alternative solution."

Later on Tuesday, N12 reported that an El Al flight from Dubai scheduled for Wednesday was also canceled.

The cancellation follows an announcement by the Transportation Ministry earlier on Tuesday that the operation to rescue Israelis stranded in Dubai will end on Thursday, according to N12.

The Transportation Ministry has been working, in cooperation with all relevant parties, to continue the return of Israelis to Israel quickly and safely," the statement read.

Israelis in UAE stranded following suspension of flydubai flights to Israel

Israelis in Dubai have faced difficulty returning home since Emirati carrier flydubai suspended all flights between the United Arab Emirates and Israel on Wednesday following the attempted hijacking of flight FZ1073 earlier that same day.

"The Transportation Ministry continues to monitor the needs of passengers and is working to adjust the transportation response in accordance with developments and demand," the statement continued.

"All parties involved in the operation are working to streamline the process and ensure the continuity of flights until the return operation is completed."
