Taylor Swift Surprises Emmys in ‘SVU’ Parody but Skips Show to Attend Chiefs Game With Tom Cruise

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s love story is still blooming, even after their wedding.

The music superstar appeared at Kelce’s first game of the season, where he laced up to play tight end for another season for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 14. The Monday Night Football season opener took place in Kansas City against the Denver Broncos. Her seatmate? None other than Tom Cruise.

But the superstar also appeared at the Emmys at the same time, in a “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” sketch that was meta about Taylor dropping clues that she was showing up at the Emmys.

“The Emmys are tonight, and the mayor’s office is breathing down my neck demanding an answer to the big question: Will Taylor Swift be at the Emmys?” host Mariska Hargitay said in the sketch, in character as Olivia Benson. “Now, in order to crack a Swifty case, you’ve got to think like a Swifty, because the Swifties think that everything is a clue to what she’ll do next.”

Swift joined in on the fun, throwing out wild clues and ideas to help the team predict if she’d end up in a pre-taped segment.

Kelce has played with the Chiefs since 2013 and has won three Super Bowls with the organization. Swift has been a frequent fixture at Kelce’s games since they first started publicly dating. The increased spotlight on the NFL as a result, especially from young female fans, has inspired the league to embrace them and hopefully convert them into forever fans.

The couple made waves over the summer by throwing a massive wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

“It was cool to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the mecca of all sports venues,” Kelce said of his unique wedding venue. “To be able to get married there. I thanked the owners of MSG for allowing us to get the opportunity to do that, knowing that we wanted a private event and it was perfect.”

Meanwhile, Swift is currently getting awards buzz for her song “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which was released on the “Toy Story 5” soundtrack. The song, which has more of a country music feel than much of her recent work, was nominated for the CMA Award for Single of the Year. Taylor has since confirmed that she will be attending the show.
