15 flights diverted from Delhi airport as city hit by heavy rain, thunderstorm
As many as 15 flights to Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport were diverted on Monday after heavy rains and thunderstorm hit the national capital.
12 of the 15 flights were diverted to Jaipur, while two were redirected to Chandigarh and one to Lucknow. Among the 12 flights diverted to Jaipur, three were international flights.

A red alert for very heavy rains was issued for parts of the national capital, while a yellow alert for moderate showers was sounded for other districts of Delhi.
South East Delhi, East Delhi, Shahdara, Central Delhi, North East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South West Delhi, West Delhi, North West Delhi and North Delhi witnessed heavy downpour earlier in the day.
The heavy rainfall led to waterlogging and traffic snarls across the city.
IMD's rain forecast for Delhi
The capital is likely to receive multiple spells of rain on Monday. However, the weather is expected to turn largely dry from Tuesday, with the IMD forecasting little or no rain for most of the rest of the week.
For Tuesday, the IMD has predicted only the “possibility of” very light rain during the afternoon. On Wednesday, a spell of very light to light rain is expected at a few places before noon. From afternoon to evening, another spell of very light to light rain is likely at many places, while moderate rain is expected at isolated places.
From Thursday to Sunday, the IMD has stated that no rain is expected, with partly cloudy skies likely to persist.
The IMD also issued a yellow alert for Ghaziabad, and an orange alert for Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad till at least 2 pm on Monday.
