Defense Ministry sanctions UK registered company after transfer of fuel to Hezbollah-owned company

Translate

Defense Minister Israel Katz signed a sanction on energy company Coral Oil following the transfer of some 130,000 liters of fuel to Al-Amana, a Hezbollah-owned fuel company, the Defense Ministry announced on Thursday.

Fuel is more than a commercial commodity to Hezbollah, the ministry stated. The terror organization uses fuel distillates to transport weapons and military components, power generators and infrastructure, and to support its underground infrastructure.

Supplying fuel to Hezbollah therefore directly provides it with capabilities that sustain its terrorist activity against Israel, the ministry said.

Sanctions part of larger campaign targeting terror supply chain

While Coral Oil is registered in the United Kingdom, it is owned by a Lebanese company, A Yamin Group S.A.L., and conducts its business through its Lebanese branch.

The sanction on Coral Oil is part of a larger campaign by the National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing and other security agencies to target not only entities directly associated with Hezbollah, but also the trade and supply chains that enable the terror organization.
