PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — Security measures have been tightened at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) Grade School Department, even as school authorities assured the public on Sunday that no substantiated threat had been identified following the circulation of messages alleging a violent attack on the school on Monday, Oct. 19.

In an official advisory, the AdZU Grade School administration acknowledged the anxiety caused by the unverified information, noting that the concerns arose just two months after a shooting incident struck the school community on Aug. 18.

“Please be assured that we are taking these reports seriously. Based on the information verified thus far, no substantiated threat has been identified,” the school said in a statement.

Despite the initial assessment, school officials said they were continuing to evaluate all information received and had coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) for further verification and a swift response.
