Sebulba, an infamous racer who first made his debut in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace in 1999, has joined the roster of characters in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

Many franchise fanatics will be hyped for this addition, as Star Wars: Galactic Racer is shaping up to be the spiritual successor to Star Wars Episode I: Racer, also from 1999.

But Sebulba's appearance also brings questions – is he playable and how can the racing icon be unlocked? Don’t fret, keep reading to find out all of the answers here.

The game is split up into three acts, and while characters may passively talk about Sebulba in Act I, he doesn’t become a prominent figure until Act II and III.

After beating Sebulba at the end of Act I in order to join the Galactic League, Shade is able to talk to Sebulba in Act II in the hub of each planet.

Talking to Sebulba allows you to unlock his memories, where you get to play as the podracing icon against his rivals during his prime years. Succeed, and you will not only gain Sebulba’s respect, but some rewards too.

At the end of Act II, once you beat Kestar for the first time, the spoilt villain steals Sebulba’s podracer for himself. This triggers Shade and Sebulba to team up in Act III, where Sebulba teaches Shade the art of podracing.

However, alongside these podracing challenges in the final act, Shade can still revisit Sebulba’s memories to play as the former racing champion.

In addition to the main campaign, Sebulba is immediately available as a playable character in Star Wars: Galactic Racer’s arcade mode in a variety of different podracing challenges. So if you can’t wait until Act II, switch to arcade mode to play as the racing legend.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is out now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
