Arsenal thrashed Lille with a three-goal blitz in the second half for a 3-0 win to extend its perfect start to the UEFA Champions League 2026-27 at the Emirates Stadium in London on Tuesday.
Jurrien Timber’s deft finish opened the floodgates just after the hour mark before Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka also found the back of the net.
With these three points, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners now share the lead in the standings with Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon. All are on six points from two games.
After a goalless first half, the North London side took the lead in the 64th minute after Timber dinked the ball over Lille goalkeeper Berke Ozer from Noni Madueke’s pass.
Then substitute Saka set up Eze’s deflected goal three minutes later, before he finished off fellow substitute Kai Havertz’s cut-back to notch up Arsenal’s third goal in seven minutes.
Former Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud made an appearance late into the game, amidst a cheering home crowd, but the visiting side couldn’t find the goal, or a point from the match.
