The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, has selected a team of experienced journalists and communication experts to drive his media and publicity campaign ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

This was contained in a statement issued by Alli’s Media Consultant, Dare Adekanmbi, and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Thursday.

According to the statement, the appointments are aimed at strengthening the campaign’s media visibility, strategic communication, public engagement and overall information management ahead of the 2027 general election.

Former South-West Bureau Chief of The Nation newspaper, Bisi Oladele, was appointed Director of Media and Publicity, while a former Chief Press Secretary to late Governor Lam Adesina, Kehinde Olaosebikan, was named Director of Strategic Communication.

Also appointed as Director of Public Affairs is Bolaji Tunji, a former Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the late Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi.

The immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council, Ademola Babalola, was appointed Deputy Director, while the Oyo State APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, will serve as Secretary of the media and publicity team.

Oladele, a multimedia journalist and communication strategist, has over 25 years of experience in journalism and public relations.

Before his latest appointment, he was the Executive Editor of Newspeak Media and Chairman of the South-West Guild of Online Publishers.

Oladele holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education (English) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a Master’s degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan. He is currently completing his PhD in Political Communication at Lead City University, Ibadan.

Olaosebikan, a veteran media practitioner, previously served as CPS to the late Governor Adesina of Oyo State.

Tunji, also a seasoned journalist and communication practitioner, served as Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

With the 2027 race drawing closer, the new media team is expected to play a key role in projecting Alli’s agenda, countering rival narratives and driving his campaign’s engagement with voters.
