OG Miami Characters' Dexter: Resurrection Season 3 & Beyond Returns Addressed By Michael C. Hall

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Dexter: Resurrection season 1.EXCLUSIVE: Dexter: Resurrection season 3 and beyond could bring back more familiar faces.
Dexter Morgan (played by Michael C. Hall) has been on-screen for 20 years, catching killers who have escaped justice. The franchise continues to be a major success and dominates the streaming charts. Dexter: Resurrection reignites the vigilante serial killer as he reunites with his son Harrison (played by Jack Alcott) and cleans the streets of New York City. With familiar faces returning to the franchise, Dexter's Miami roots could continue to resurface.
Dexter: Resurrection season 2 is quickly approaching, and viewers will see some franchise stars return after a surprise return in season 1. David Zayas, known as Angel Batista, returned to the franchise in Resurrection season 1, and now Desmond Harrington, known for portraying Joey Quinn, is returning for season 2. In an interview with ScreenRant's Ash Crossan, Hall discussed the returning faces from the flagship series Dexter in the new spinoff, and the potential for more beloved characters to return for season 3.
ScreenRant: Dexter fans have been fed. We've got Quinn coming back in a bigger way this season, and we've seen so many other returning characters. Is there anyone who has not appeared yet that you would just really love to see come back one more time?
Michael C. Hall: I mean, anybody from the Miami days would be a fun thing to see happen.
In Dexter's world, he has this internal landscape that isn't bound by whether people are alive or dead. So, I guess just about anybody could make an appearance.
Dexter has had manifestations of living and dead enemies, friends, lovers, and more, acting as an inner conscience throughout the franchise. Usually, his late father, Harry Morgan (played by James Remar), appears to keep the vigilante's dark passenger at bay and keep Dexter on the right path.
Question 1 of 3
It has been revealed Zayas will return following the tragic season 1 ending as a manifestation by Dexter, with Harrington appearing rather angry in recent set photos confronting Hall's character. However, other beloved characters from the flagship series have been asked to return, including C.S. Lee's character Vince Masuka, who was briefly shown in season 1, but has yet to have a more distinct return.
Another is Astor and Cody Bennett, the children of Dexter's late wife, Rita Bennet (played by Julie Benz), who haven't been seen since Dexter season 7, but were a major part of Dexter's growth and his own closeness with humanity while continuing to enable his dark passenger.
Dexter: Resurrection has yet to be renewed for a third season, but it seems a likely future for the spinoff series due to its incredible success. Season 2 is set to premiere on October 30 on Paramount+, and season 1 is currently available to stream now.
