Orlando Pirates midfielder ruled out for four months

Translate

Orlando Pirates midfielder Sihle Nduli has been ruled out for the rest of 2026 with an ankle injury.

Nduli was injured by Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya in Pirates’ 1-1 draw with AmaZulu in midweek, and this was his first match since returning from injury.

Now, according to a statement released by Pirates, the 30-year-old midfielder will be out of action for four months.

This means Nduli will only play competitive football in 2027, leaving Abdeslam Ouaddou with a selection headache early in the season.

Nonetheless, Pirates have midfield anchor Makhehleni Makhaula to call now that Nduli is again injured.

ORLANDO PIRATES MIDFIELDER NDULI OUT FOR FOUR MONTHS

“Nduli is expected to be sidelined for approximately four months after suffering a Grade 3 ligament tear, effectively ruling him out of action for the remainder of the year,” reads part of the statement.

NGWENYA APOLOGISES TO NDULI

Meanwhile, Ngwenya has since apologised for injuring Nduli, saying it was not his intention to do so.

His actions were heavily criticised by his coach at AmaZulu, Arthur Zwane immediately after the game as that was a career ending tackle.
