Mancini’s reaction to Olise goal vs. Italy revealed: ‘Nothing else you can do’

Roberto Mancini and his staff ‘threw their hands up’ after seeing France star Michael Olise score the opening goal from a free kick in a Nations League game between Italy and France.
Italy visit France in the third round of the Nations League group phase tonight. The first half ended 0-0, but Les Bleus broke the deadlock after the break with a fantastic Olise free-kick.

It looked like Rayan Cherki was set to take the free kick, but instead the Manchester City star merely touched the ball to his teammate. Olise then executed a stunning free kick that struck the lower edge of the crossbar before crossing the goal line.
RAI pitchside reporter Tiziana Alla described Mancini and his staff’s reaction to France’s opener: “They all threw their hands up; there’s nothing else you can do in a situation like that,” the journalist said.

The Azzurri levelled the score with Alessandro Bastoni, who won possession high up the pitch and beat Milan keeper Maignan 13 minutes after Olise’s goal.
Bastoni’s goal was the first goal France conceded under their new coach, Zinedine Zidane.
