New month: Kaizer Chiefs fixtures in September

Kaizer Chiefs have made an unbeaten start under newly appointed French head coach Fernando Da Cruz. They bagged eight points from their opening four matches.

Amakhosi opened their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Kruger United before recording a 2-0 win against Sekhukhune United. They have also played out two draws, leaving them third on the early Betway Premiership standings and just two points behind the leaders.

The September schedule now presents Da Cruz with an opportunity to build on that momentum.

KAIZER CHIEFS FACE THREE SEPTEMBER TESTS

The first assignment will be at home against Siwelele FC on Sunday, 6 September.

The match will kick off at 17:30 at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto. The fixture was moved from its original arrangements because of national stadium availability challenges.

It will be another opportunity for Chiefs to collect maximum points in front of their supporters as they look to remain among the early title contenders.

Amakhosi will then hit the road for their next two fixtures.

On Saturday, 12 September, Kaizer Chiefs travel to the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium to face Polokwane City FC. That encounter is scheduled to get underway at 15:00.

The Glamour Boys will have another away assignment one week later.

On Saturday, 19 September, Kaizer Chiefs face Lamontville Golden Arrows FC at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium, with kick-off again scheduled for 15:00.

AMAKHOSI TARGET STRONG SEPTEMBER

Three fixtures means nine points will be available to Kaizer Chiefs during September.

With Fernando Da Cruz attempting to build a side capable of competing for the Betway Premiership title, a strong month could provide significant momentum for the rest of the campaign.

The unbeaten start has already given the team a platform. Now they must turn that promise into consistency.

Winning at home against Siwelele FC will be the immediate priority before two difficult away trips against Polokwane City FC and Lamontville Golden Arrows FC.

If the Amakhosi can navigate the month successfully, they could strengthen their position near the summit and send an early warning to their title rivals.
