Defense minister attends main phase of strategic command-post exercise

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher witnessed via videoconference the main phase of the strategic command-post exercise conducted within the area of responsibility of the Third Field Army.

The exercise continued for several days as part of the combat training plan for formations and units of the Armed Forces. It was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, commanders of the main branches and a number of Armed Forces commanders, as well as commanders of field armies and military zones from their respective locations.

The main phase included a presentation of a summary of the operational concept and the decisions taken during the management of the exercise.

Zaher conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to the personnel participating in the exercise.

He also discussed with commanders how they carried out their missions and made decisions to address changing circumstances during the conduct of operations.

Zaher praised the forces’ outstanding performance and high combat proficiency, as well as their ability to conduct joint operations with full coordination and cohesion.

He urged them to maintain the highest levels of combat readiness so that the Armed Forces remain capable of fulfilling their assigned missions and responsibilities under all circumstances.

Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa witnessed one of the exercise’s phases, which included a presentation of activities carried out during previous phases, as well as reports and procedures for organizing cooperation among various specialties.

He also discussed with exercise participants their approach to planning and managing operations and their ability to carry out all assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.
