2027: Aisha Yesufu urges Obi supporters to learn, play ‘Osun script’

Activist Aisha Yesufu has joined the “Osun Script” social media campaign, pledging to protect her vote ahead of the 2027 elections.

Yesufu announced her participation in a X post on Saturday, sharing a personalised poster generated through an online link that allows participants to declare their commitment to protecting their votes.

In her pledge, the activist identified herself as being from the Federal Capital Territory and declared her intention to vote for the National Democratic Congress in the January 16, 2027, election.

Explaining her pledge, Yesufu said she would follow the voting and counting processes to protect her vote.

“I am Aisha Yesufu from FCT. I will vote NDC on 16 January 2027 and play the Osun Script to protect my vote: vote, stay, count, snap the result sheet,” she said.

The campaign encourages participants to fill out an online form to generate personalised posters bearing their details and pledges. They are also encouraged to share the graphics on social media to promote the initiative.

Urging more Nigerians to participate, Yesufu said the 2027 elections should be approached differently from the 2023 general elections.

“2027 is not 2023. Learn the Osun Script and make your own pledge,” she added.

The activist also called on Nigerians to mobilise support for former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, using the hashtags #YouRigWeOsunYou and #VoteNDC.

The “Osun Script” draws its name from the 2026 Osun State governorship election, in which incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party defeated the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

Adeleke polled 511,067 votes against Oyebamiji’s 444,815, winning by 66,252 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke the winner on August 16, 2026, following the election held the previous day.

The campaign’s slogan, “vote, stay, count, snap the result sheet”, encourages voters to cast their ballots, remain at polling units to observe the counting process and photograph result sheets where permitted.
