Habagat to bring heavy rains in parts of Luzon Saturday afternoon (Sept. 5)

MANILA, Philippines — Several areas in Luzon may still experience heavy rains on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 5, due to the continued effects of the southwest monsoon, or habagat, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that between 15 millimeters (mm) and 30 mm of rain may prevail over areas in Bataan and Zambales under orange rainfall alert.

- Bataan (Morong, Dinalupihan and Hermosa)
- Zambales(Olongapo, Castillejos, Subic, San Antonio, San Narciso, Botolan, San Marcelino, Cabangan, San Felipe, Palauig, Iba, Candelaria and Masinloc)
The weather bureau warned that floods during severe weather in the affected areas may be threatening.

Meanwhile, a yellow warning was also issued over Metro Manila and many other areas in Luzon as follows:
- Tarlac
- Pampanga
- Nueva Ecija (Rizal, San Jose, Lupao, Pantabangan, Carranglan, Talugtug, Munoz, Llanera, Talavera, Santo Domingo, Quezon, Licab, Guimba, Cuyapo, Nampicuan, Aliaga, San Antonio, Zaragoza and Cabiao)
- Santa Cruz, Zambales
- Bataan (Abucay, Bagac, Balanga, Limay, Mariveles, Orani, Orion, Pilar and Samal)
- Bulacan (Baliuag, Pandi, Bustos, Santa Maria, San Jose del Monte, Meycauayan, Marilao, Bocaue, Balagtas, Guiguinto, Plaridel, Pulilan, Bulakan, Malolos, Paombong, Hagonoy, Calumpit and Obando)
- Rizal (Binangonan, Angono, Taytay, Cainta, Antipolo, San Mateo, Rodriguez, Cardona, Morong, Teresa and Baras)
- Laguna (Binan and San Pedro)
- Cavite (Carmona, Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Dasmarinas, Imus, Bacoor, Noveleta, Kawit, Cavite City, Tanza, General Trias, Rosario, Trece Martires, Ternate, Maragondon, Magallanes, General Emilio Aguinaldo and Naic)
- Batangas (Nasugbu, Tuy, Balayan, Calatagan and Lian)
A yellow warning means between 7.5 mm and 15 mm of rainfall may pour within the next few hours.
Pagasa also reported that Quezon and places in Laguna may expect light to moderate with occasional rain showers within the next three hours.

The weather bureau also said that the following areas are experiencing similar conditions, which may go on within the next three hours:
- Rizal (Tanay, Jala-Jala, and Pililla)
- Bulacan (Angat, Norzagaray and San Rafael)
- Nueva Ecija (Santa Rosa, Cabanatuan, General Mamerto Natividad, San Leonardo, Jaen and San Isidro)
- Batangas (Batangas City, Tingloy, Mabini, San Pascual, Bauan, Lobo, San Luis, Taal, Santa Teresita, Alitagtag, San Nicolas, Agoncillo, Laurel, Lemery and Calaca)
- Cavite (Indang, Alfonso, Mendez, Tagaytay, Amadeo and Silang) /apl
