Respicio takes ‘extensive’ P28,000 drug test after Remulla remark

MANILA, Philippines — Isabela Vice Mayor Jeryll Harold Respicio underwent a P28,000 drug test at a private hospital after Interior Secretary Jonvic Remula said he wanted him tested following his outburst during a council session.

“Pinaka-extensive na drug test yung pinake ko, may qualitative and may quantitative. So kakakuha lang ng sample sa akin and in 15 minutes lalabas na po yung qualitative results. And in two hours lalabas na rin po yung qualitative results,” said in a phone interview with reporters on Wednesday.

(“The most extensive drug test is what I took. It includes both qualitative and quantitative tests. They just took my sample, and the qualitative results will be available in 15 minutes. The quantitative results will also be available in two hours.”)

“Makikita naman nila ang lahat nangyari sa live. Parusaan nila ako. Pero ang gusto ko rin mangyari parusaan nila ang nagnanakaw sa bayan namin at ang nakaharas ng tubig o farmers kasi mas mabigat ang parusa doon,” said Respicio.

“They can see everything that happened on the livestream. Let them punish me. But what I also want to happen is for them to punish those who are stealing from our town and those who are taking advantage of the water or farmers, because the penalties for those offenses are more severe,” said Respicio. /mr
