Two east London men arrested in Barbados over 'plot to smuggle more than $1 million of cocaine'

Two men from London have been arrested in Barbados after allegedly attempting to smuggle over $1 million of cocaine.

Abdul-Rasheed Anjolaoluwa Oduola, 19, and Miraldie Ndunzi, 22, were arrested by the Barbados Police Service Narcotics Unit after 46kg of the class A drug was seized by officers.

They have both been charged with possession, trafficking, intent to supply and attempting to export cocaine.

According to the Barbados Police Service, the men, both from east London, were each found with around 23kg of cocaine worth a street value of £444,000.

The men were arrested on September 29 and appeared in court in Horse Hill, St Joseph, on October 2.

It is unclear how the drugs were discovered by authorities and an investigation into the alleged smuggling plot currently ongoing.

A Foreign Office spokesperson said: “We are providing consular assistance to two British nationals detained in Barbados and are in contact with the local authorities.”
