Eain Yow gives Malaysia 5th gold in Asian Games
National squash champion Ng Eain Yow gave Malaysia its fifth gold in the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games when he won the singles final this afternoon.
Eain Yow, the defending champion, beat India’s Abhay Singh 11-9, 11-5, 11-5 at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena, and also booked his ticket for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
Eain Yow is ranked No 18 in the world, and Abhay occupies the 24th spot.
Malaysia will achieve its six-gold target in the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games when national women’s singles champion S Sivasangari takes on another Indian opponent, Anahat Singh, following the Eain Yow-Abhay match.
Sivasangari, ranked No 5 in the world, is in top form and is favourite to win against the 17th ranked Anahat. She will also qualify for the 2028 Olympics if she wins.
