Cameron Green ruled out of first Test vs South Africa

Translate

Allrounder Cameron Green has been ruled out of Australia's first Test against South Africa with an abdominal strain. Green was in doubt for the series opener after suffering the injury during the third ODI against South Africa, and did not feature in Australia's two-day tour game against CSA Invitational XI.

Green was injured after being struck in the abdomen by a Corbin Bosch full toss in Potchefstroom.

Green was part of Australia's previous Test assignment - the drawn series at home against Bangladesh. Green scored a century and a fifty in that series and was Australia's leading run-scorer. He had also bowled 10 overs in the first Test in Darwin.

The first Test of the three-match series against South Africa begins on Friday in Durban.
