Miranda Kerr reveals why she turned down the opportunity to appear in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 20 years after her first turn: 'It was right to cherish this chapter as it was'

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show returned in spectacular fashion on Sunday, with the likes of Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio making their highly-anticipated return to the runway. 

But there was one Victoria's Secret veteran whose absence did not go unnoticed -  Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr. 

Hours before the show, the mother-of-four, 43, took to Instagram to reveal she had turned down the opportunity to appear on this year's runway. 

'20 years since my first Victoria's Secret show. Looking back with so much gratitude for the friendships, the magical memories and for everyone who made that chapter of my life so special,' Miranda wrote next to a gallery of throwback photos documenting her time as a VS Angel. 

'It meant so much to be invited to return this year, especially as it marks 20 years since my first show…. but I ultimately felt in my heart it was right to cherish this chapter as it was,' she continued. 

'Sending so much love and light to everyone in this year's show!'

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show returned in spectacular fashion, with the likes of Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel (pictured) and Alessandra Ambrosio making their highly-anticipated return to the runway 

Her post was flooded with well-wishing comments from friends, fans and fellow celebrities. 

'The way you had us OBSESSED,' Victoria's Secret model Elsa Hosk - who was in this year's show - commented. 

'That smile should be illegal,' Sophie Monk added, while Victoria's Secret's official page  commented: 'Always an Angel to us.'

Miranda then spent the evening reposting footage from the runway show, before sharing her own homage to the franchise by uploading a video of herself strutting across her lounge room in a silk robe and heels. 

'Now on my way to put my kids to bed,' she jokingly wrote next to the clip. 

Miranda last made an appearance on the catwalk at Paris Fashion Week during the Stella McCartney 2027 womenswear show. 

It comes after Miranda shared the secrets behind her health regime, revealing the strict diet she follows every day to maintain her supermodel glow.

She shared details of her wellness habits back in August during an appearance on Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari, where she also spoke candidly about raising her teenage son Flynn Bloom.

Miranda said her mornings begin with a drink she has consumed since she was a teenager.

'I've been drinking noni juice since I was 13. I'm 43 - [that's] 30 years! Noni juice is a superfood, superfruit. It originates from Tahiti, but it can grow in other parts of the world like Australia too,' she said.

Miranda said she takes a 30ml shot every morning because it is packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals - and even gives some to her youngest child.

The brunette then follows it with homemade tea made from marshmallow leaf, as it is 'good for the gut lining'.
