Zendaya Set For Alex Garland Sci-Fi Film At A24

As Zendaya continues to play out a killer 2026, she’s inked to star in an untitled new A24 sci-fi film written and directed by Alex Garland.
This follows the A-lister’s collaboration with the studio on Euphoria, the recently wrapped, hit HBO series, for which she won multiple Emmys, a Golden Globe and other top accolades, and Kristoffer Borgli’s darkly comedic rom-com The Drama. She and Robert Pattinson took the latter title to a worldwide gross of over $134M. Previously, she’s also been attached to play singer Ronnie Spector in Be My Baby, an A24 film from Barry Jenkins that we first reported.
Plot details for Garland’s latest are being kept under wraps. Shooting next year, it’ll continue a long-standing relationship between filmmaker and studio. A24 has worked with Garland since his Oscar-nominated breakout Ex Machina; other titles they’ve teamed for include Warfare, Civil War, Men, and his upcoming big-budget adaptation of the video game Elden Ring.
So far this year, Zendaya has been seen in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, an Oscar frontrunner that has exceeded $1.7B in worldwide ticket sales, and reprised as MJ in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has done over $2.5 billion worldwide. Next up, she’ll be seen reprising as Chani in Dune: Part Three, the conclusion of a lauded sci-fi trilogy from Denis Villeneuve, out December 18. She is repped by CAA, JE Talent, Monster Talent Management, and Granderson Des Rochers.
Starring Kit Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Ben Whishaw and many more, Garland’s live-action take on Elden Ring is dated for March 3, 2028. Outside of his work at A24, Garland recently wrote and produced both 28 Years Later and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple for Sony Pictures. He is repped by WME and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
