Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez have been married for almost a year now, and the two have been going strong since then. Also, Blanco seems to be ready to take on the loving dad role as soon as possible.

During one of his latest appearances, the music producer opened up about how he is looking forward to becoming a father and how he is going to be as a parent after it becomes a reality for him.

While featuring on the ‘Open Book with Jenna’ podcast, the music producer opened up about family life and how becoming a father is one of the biggest things that he has been looking forward to. Blanco joined the podcast episode to promote his new book.When talking about parenthood, Blanco admitted that he does not feel afraid of the whole ordeal and is actually looking forward to that chapter of his life. He told Jenna Bush Hager, “Some of the negative things from my childhood are what helped me really get where I want to be and gave me the courage and bravery to do something different. I’m not afraid. I mean, I of course want to be the best parent, the best partner. I’m excited when that day finally comes.

He also opened up about how he is aware that it is not going to be easy or a smooth ride and that he will make mistakes along the way. “I’m convinced that when that finally does happen, I am going to make mistakes, and that’s okay. Failure in real life—that's what’s going to make my kid, that’s what’s going to screw ‘em up a little, but that’s what’s going to make them special.”

Why Benny Blanco believes that making mistakes is important

During the podcast episode, the 38-year-old also shared that making mistakes in life is a natural thing to do, and it also is an important factor when it comes to parenting.

He continued, “I do think it’s important, because we all have those blemishes on our report card, but that’s what makes it look so good when you did have that blemish, and then you’re like, Now I have an 'A."'

Selena Gomez has also expressed that she wants to build her family

Over the years, the singer and actress has also shared her thoughts on starting a family and how it is something that she wants in her life in the future. During an earlier feature on Miley Cyrus’ show ‘Bright Minded,' the ‘Only Murders in the Building’ star opened up about how life has been and detailed how her lupus and bipolar disorder affected her life.

She also shared that despite everything going on in her life, she is willing to do what it takes to create a family.During the interview, she added, “[But] I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me. It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people,” she continued. “I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care.

It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco got married on September 27, 2025, in an intimate wedding that was attended by their family members, close friends, and fellow celebrities from the industry.
