Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner, model Georgina Rodríguez, in a civil ceremony on 11 August in Cascais, Portugal.

A press release described the ceremony as a “private and intimate moment” attended by their children, according to People Magazine.

The 41-year-old sportsman shared a photo on Instagram of his and his wife’s hands with their wedding rings.

The post received more than one million likes within 30 minutes.

Rodríguez (32) initially announced their engagement on Instagram a year ago.

“Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas,” she wrote in the caption, which translates to: “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”

The couple have been together for 10 years, having met at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working as a sales assistant. Ronaldo was still playing for Real Madrid at the time.

He has five children, two of whom he had with Rodríguez.

In 2022, the couple announced the death of their newborn son Ángel, who was the twin brother of their daughter Bella.

This year, Ronaldo participated in the FIFA World Cup, representing Portugal. The team was knocked out in the round of 16 after losing against Spain.
