Forget High Potential, Hulu Is Officially Adding 5-Part Detective Series Adaptation At The Perfect Time

Hulu may be in between seasons of their hit show High Potential, but they are soon adding another key crime series to their roster. High Potential is a crime comedy starring It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Kaitlin Olson. Apart from High Potential, the streamer has also had some other popular crime series, such as the procedural Will Trent, and true crime miniseries Under the Bridge and Candy. Many of these crime series have performed well on Hulu, giving the platform a vested interest in continuing further crime series acquisitions.

The platform will soon get one such show through Private Eyes. The procedural detective series follows a former professional hockey player and a private eye who team up to solve mysteries in the Toronto area. It stars Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson in the lead roles, with supporting characters played by Jordyn Negri, Barry Flatman, and Samantha Wan. Private Eyes originally debuted in 2016, and ran for five seasons before wrapping up in 2021.

Private Eyes Is Bringing Its Mystery-Solving Skills To Hulu

Private Eyes is coming to Hulu in just about a week, arriving on the platform on October 6. This is a big move for the series, which is not currently available on any major streaming platform. Hulu will allow the show a chance to be rediscovered five years after it initially wrapped up.

As a crime procedural with comedy infused, it also stands as a great replacement for High Potential. The Olson series wrapped up its sophomore season in April of this year, and has since been renewed for season 3. Right now, High Potential season 3 is slated for release in 2027, with no exact release date confirmed. If the gap between seasons is similar to seasons 1 and 2, it will likely arrive sometime in the early half of 2027. This gives crime fans plenty of time to watch Private Eyes the rest of this year before catching the next installment of High Potential.

The Franchise Is On The Verge Of Returning

The release of Private Eyes on Hulu also comes at the perfect time for the crime franchise itself, as it is about to return for a spin-off series. Private Eyes West Coast will bring the leads to Victoria, British Columbia in a season that airs on October 5. With the mothership show hitting Hulu just one day after, audiences can catch both the spin-off series weekly this fall while re-watching or catching up on the series that started it all.
