18 dengue deaths reported in Camarines Sur
LEGAZPI CITY — Eighteen people have died of dengue in Camarines Sur, where 1,233 confirmed cases were recorded from January to Sept. 24, Gov. Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte said on Sunday, Sept. 27.
Villafuerte said the provincial government was strengthening dengue prevention, surveillance and medical response, particularly in areas where cases were increasing.

He also said the provincial government would work with local governments, barangay officials, health workers, schools, hospitals and community groups to contain the disease.

Villafuerte urged households to eliminate mosquito breeding sites by removing stagnant water and cleaning water containers, yards and other areas where mosquitoes could breed.
Residents who develop fever or other possible dengue symptoms were urged to seek medical attention promptly.
The governor said a memorandum had also been issued outlining the responsibilities of local governments and barangays in responding to dengue hotspots. /mcm
