Elder Scrolls 6 title confirmed as Bethesda finally responds to the rumoured name

Translate

It’s been a longtime coming for Elder Scrolls 6 news, and we finally have confirmation of the game, with a new trailer and official name eight years after its first reveal.

The game is officially called Sentinel, and the new announcement has taken place just a week before Skyrim officially turns 15 years old.

The trailer is only about a minute long and shows snippets of sand physics moving before revealing The Elder Scrolls 6 Sentinel title.

We then see a quote from Yazar, Moth Priest of High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell, which reads: "The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate."

Although the quote is ambiguous and will probably tie into the story in some way, this more importantly confirms the location of the new game – Hammerfell.

Bethesda themselves also replied to the trailer on X with this: "Thank you for 40 years of shared memories. We can’t wait to make even more together with The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel.

"Development continues, and while it’ll be some time before we’re ready to share more, it feels great to finally reveal the name and location with you."

This official reveal comes only a few days after rumours surrounding the sixth instalment, as insider sources previously claimed that we would see the Sentinel name revealed but nothing more.

But despite the lack of information with this trailer, just getting a glimpse of what’s to come is huge for the franchise, especially since the game was first unveiled all the way back in 2018 during Bethesda’s E3 showcase which displayed a coastal landscape.

And in the long eight years of waiting since this first announcement, fans have had little to go on about the game’s development or when a release window might be.

Speaking of release windows, for Elder Scrolls 6 this is also still unconfirmed, but hopefully this trailer is only the beginning of what’s to come.
