Fallout: Royal Flush Officially Sends Players Back To New Vegas

Translate

James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC.

The Fallout franchise is full of iconic locations that have appeared across the various adaptations over the years, but few can claim to be as iconic as the hedonist's paradise of New Vegas. Ever since Obsidian first brought us their post-apocalyptic vision of the most famous gambling spot on Earth, players have only wanted to hear more about what goes on there.

Happily, the second season of the Prime Video adaptation delivered that in spades, making the city (in both its pre and post nuclear forms) the center of many of the seismic events that happen there. It's set to play a big role in the third season as well, but while we wait for that to debut next year, there's another release that celebrates it just as much, and it's out now.

Over on the Modiphius Entertainment website, the manufacturer has made available several expansions for the excellent Fallout: The Roleplaying Game. As part of that offering, fans can pick up Royal Flush, 240-page, full-color, hardcover quest book that takes players back to the Mojave once again.

In letting fans know a little about what they can expect from the book, the manufacturer shared the following description:

"The Mojave isn’t just a desert—it’s a blasted frontier of dust, danger, and stubborn survivors clinging to the bones of the Old World. Out here, every crumbling highway hides secrets, every settlement fights to keep raiders at bay, and every sunrise promises another struggle to survive until nightfall. Small settlements don’t last long, but the fortified towns and cities have weathered the dust storms and wars in relative safety behind their walls... though what festers inside their gates can be just as deadly. The Great War may be history, but the Mojave has never stopped being a battlefield.

"Royal Flush is a road trip down to the Sierras and the Mojave, amid the turmoil engulfing the NCR in the run-up to the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. Against the looming threat of war, the Player Characters stumble into a plot to escalate regional tensions, become embroiled in conflicts between gangs and settlements, and have the chance to visit the famous New Reno and New Vegas."

It features an extensive main questline and a bunch of side quests to keep things interesting, all of which combine to create a full experience that takes the player from level 1-21. As you'd expect from the fresh setting, it also introduces plenty of new NPCs and three new character origins, as well as bringing in rules for unique mechanics including gambling, desert environments, encounter generation and more.

If you want to get in on the action, the expansion for Fallout: The Roleplaying game is available now, at a very reasonably priced $53.98. It's probably the most fun you can have with the franchise while we wait for those in charge of it to bring us a new game.
