Ariana Grande's Flipped Bob Hair Transformation Is Bound to Be Popular

Translate

Ariana Grande Shares Hope Boyfriend Ricky Álvarez Is Her "Last" Love

Ariana Grande’s signature high ponytail has a new position these days.

The Wicked actress became quite popular on social media Oct. 22 after revealing she ditched her classic long hairstyle for an above-the-shoulder bob.

In selfies shared to Instagram Oct. 22, Grande stood against a white wall and put her new ‘do on display, showing off the neck-length hairstyle—and her darker tresses knew how to flirt and flounce with a little flip out at the end.

The haircut and coloring was done by the 34-year-old’s longtime hairstylist Brandon Pietsch, who emphasized the dramatic transformation by writing on Instagram Oct. 22, “The ponytail is taking a hiatus.”

He also shared Ari’s post on his Stories, noting she is now “in her bob era.”

While the “Thank U, Next” singer has been saying “yes” to her ponytail for around 14 years, she has made it a point to say “and” when it comes to having fun with new styles. In fact, she leaned into Glinda the Good’s blonde hair worn down during the 2024 Wicked press tour, but went a little darker for the more somber 2025 sequel.

"It's fun to play with the storytelling on the press tour," she told Entertainment Tonight in November. "With the first [Wicked] press tour, I wanted to celebrate Glinda in a more on-the-nose way, and be an extension of her and extend the time with her through clothes, through the blonde and through everything."

However, Grande added, "Now I can show up as the actress who played her and play into the darker tones of the movie. It's fun to play with hair and makeup and fashion."

Now, the Oscar nominee seems to have timed her new haircut to right before her plans to promote her upcoming film Focker-in-Law, with multiple outlets confirming she’ll be part of the press tour despite her previously announced “step back from visibility.”
