PETALING JAYA, Oct 14 — Wang Yibo, who has swapped scripts for speed, was spotted at Sepang International Circuit yesterday as he hit the track with UNO Racing ahead of the China GT Championship finale next month.

The actor, who rose to fame in the global smash China drama The Untamed, has been steadily building a second career in motorsport. His journey began in 2019, when he made his professional motorcycle debut at the Michelin GPGP Grand Prix in Beijing, before switching to GT car racing in 2024 with UNO Racing.

Wang also marked his 29th birthday by sharing his decision to step back from acting, telling fans he wanted to prioritise quality over quantity.

He said he has been spending more time outdoors and throwing himself into professional motorsports. And his fans? Well, they have shown only love, applauding the move as a bold commitment to craft instead of chasing endless projects.

With the China GT finale set for Nov 6–8 at Sepang, Malaysian fans will soon get to see him, not as the star of a drama, but as a racer chasing the chequered flag.
