Lola Young Breaks Down in Tears During “Spiders” at Rock in Rio, Calls Brazilian Fans “the Best in the World”: Watch

Lola Young got emotional during her Rock in Rio debut on Sunday, breaking down in tears while performing “Spiders” during her first-ever show in Brazil.

The British singer took the Palco Mundo stage amid persistent rain, opening with “Wish You Were Dead” before moving through a set that balanced quieter, vocal-driven moments with the more chaotic energy of her full band.

The highlight of the evening, however, came during “Spiders,” when Young began crying as she performed the song. Young was equally moved by the audience. “I was really looking forward to performing here and hearing the screams of Brazilians, who are the best in the world,” she told the crowd. “You proved that to me.”

Young ultimately closed her Rock in Rio set with “Messy,” the viral hit that helped propel her to international recognition. She’ll continue her festival run in the US with appearances at All Things Go in New York and Maryland and both weekends of Austin City Limits before heading to Los Angeles for Camp Flog Gnaw in November.
