Senate seeks explanation from Lalamove founder

MANILA, Philippines — The Senate committee on public services will issue a show-cause order to Lalamove founder and CEO Shing Chow, who failed to attend, for the third straight time, the ongoing hearing on operational regulations for digital labor platforms.
“Send a show-cause order for why they shouldn’t be cited in contempt because this is the third time. People from Lalamove always snub this hearing,” committee chair Sen. Raffy Tulfo instructed the committee secretary on Wednesday.

“I don’t know what they’re thinking, why they are snubbing these hearings three times in a row. So, I want a subpoena sent, as soon as possible … If they still don’t attend, then issue a warrant of arrest for the very owner himself,” Tulfo said.
