Karthik Subbaraj’s latest film ‘Dorothy’, starring Keerthy Suresh, was released in theatres on September 25. Soon after its release, actress Sreeleela took to social media to send her best wishes to the team.

Talking about the film, ‘Dorothy’ is set against the backdrop of caste-related violence in the 1990s. The story revolves around two close friends, Karthi and Subbu, whose lives change after the arrival of a woman named Dorothy.Karthi and Subbu are portrayed as soul brothers, while Dorothy becomes an important part of their journey.

Keerthy Suresh plays the titular character in ‘Dorothy’. Sananth plays Subbu, while Rishikanth portrays Karthi.

The film also features Ramachandran Durairaj and Soundararaja in important roles.‘Dorothy’ marks Karthik Subbaraj’s 10th feature film as a director.

Ilaiyaraaja

has composed the original soundtrack and background score, marking his 1,540th film project. Thiru has handled the cinematography.As per trade analyst Sacnilk, ‘Dorothy’ on its first day made over Rs. 69 lakh in Tamil Nadu net by the 6:30 pm update on September 25.

Meanwhile, Sreeleela was last seen in ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’, starring alongside Pawan Kalyan and Raashii Khanna. She also has ‘Om Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood’ in her upcoming lineup.Sreeleela is also set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Kartik Aaryan in Anurag Basu’s upcoming romantic film ‘Tu Meri Zindagi Hai’, which was earlier rumoured to be titled ‘Aashiqui 3’.
