Coronation Street and Emmerdale aren't on tonight - here's when they'll return

Coronation Street and Emmerdale fans needn't worry about tuning into ITV1 tonight (29 September) as unfortunately the soaps will not be airing a new episode.

Unfortunately, both programmes have once again been pushed from the usual schedule due to a football game.

ITV1 has had to postpone the latest episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale due to the live coverage of the UEFA Nations League match between Czech Republic and England.

The football match will air between 7pm and 10.05pm. Not only is the live soap broadcast affected, but the episodes won't be available to stream on ITVX or YouTube either.

But luckily, Corrie and Emmerdale fans don't have to wait too long to get their fix as both soaps will return with new episodes on Wednesday (30 September.)

Emmerdale will air at 8pm, with Coronation Street following immediately after at 8.30pm.

The biggest storyline in the latter this week is the aftermath of Eva Price being accidentally pushed down the stairs by Sam Blakeman.

Fans already know that Sam accidentally caused the incident when he pushed past Eva while searching for his missing phone at the pub, but he's currently keeping very quiet about his involvement.

Sadly, it means that Carl Webster ends up being the prime suspect in the incident.

Meanwhile, over in Emmerdale, there's plenty of drama surrounding Joe Tate's attempt at trying to put his baby son up for a private adoption.

Following the death of his fiancée, Dawn Taylor, it seems Joe has made a rather unexpected choice about the future of their baby boy.

Kim Tate is shocked and horrified when she shows up at the hospital, only to be turned away at the door, as Joe has sent strict instructions that nobody is allowed to see his child.

Once back at Home Farm together, the new dad explains that he's cutting off all access to his newborn after deciding to put his young son up for adoption.

Joe chooses to ignore Kim's concerns when she tells him it isn't legal, and makes it very clear that he plans to go ahead with his plan regardless.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
