Chukwueze Faces Layoff Over Hip Injury

Translate

AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze is expected to miss several weeks of action after suffering a hip injury.

The 27-year-old missed Wednesday morning’s training session ahead of Milan’s UEFA Europa League clash with Premier League side Bournemouth.

According to Sport Mediaset, Chukwueze is scheduled to undergo a specialist examination today to determine the severity of the injury.

The Nigeria international reportedly experienced discomfort in his left hip, with Milan concerned that the problem could be serious enough to keep him out of action for several weeks or even months.

Chukwueze has made an encouraging start to the season under Ruben Amorim following his return from a loan spell at Fulham.

The winger has recorded two assists in eight appearances across all competitions for the Rossoneri.

His potential absence would be another setback for Milan, who are already without Alexis Saelemaekers following the Belgian’s recent ankle surgery.

Saelemaekers is expected to be sidelined for at least five months.
