Passenger falls onto tracks at Wangsa Maju LRT station after reportedly fainting

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 — A passenger reportedly fainted before falling onto the tracks at the Wangsa Maju LRT station this morning, causing a brief disruption to services on the Kelana Jaya line.

Rapid KL said the incident occurred at 6.52am.

It said the Platform Intrusion Emergency Stop (PIES) system was activated immediately, cutting power to the tracks as a safety precaution.

“This resulted in a slight delay to Kelana Jaya LRT line services,” it said in a statement posted on its social media channels.

The passenger was rescued from the track area by station personnel and taken to the emergency department for immediate treatment, Rapid KL said.

It advised passengers who feel unwell or require assistance at stations or on platforms to seek help from auxiliary police or station personnel.

Rapid KL also reminded passengers to remain behind the yellow line while waiting for trains.
