Pakistan players have been fined 5% of their match fees for maintaining a slow over rate during their win over Sri Lanka in the tri-series final in Lahore.

Pakistan were found to be one over short after time allowances were taken into consideration.

According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their team fails to bowl in the allotted time. Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi accepted the charges and the sanction.

Pakistan reached the final after winning three of their four round-robin matches against Sri Lanka and England. In the title clash, Pakistan were set 326 at the same venue where Sri Lanka had bowled them out for 110 in their previous fixture.

But a century from Fakhar Zaman and fifties from Saad Baig and Arafat Minhas saw them complete a three-wicket win. Pakistan registered the joint-highest successful chase in an ODI final, and for that matter, any ODI knockout match.
