Harry Potter: Veiled By Pride Officially Announced

Harry Potter is in the midst of its 25-year anniversary since the launch of The Philosopher’s Stone back on November 16, 2001, and the Wizarding World is packed with exciting upcoming projects. The celebrations arrive just months before HBO’s new Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which premieres Christmas 2026.

The first trailer has already generated enormous buzz, becoming HBO and HBO Max’s most-watched trailer ever after amassing more than 277 million views in 48 hours. The new adaptation stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione and Alastair Stout as Ron, alongside John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Snape and Nick Frost as Hagrid.

Before that, however, fans have September 1’s annual Back to Hogwarts celebrations to look forward to, with global events planned, a special London celebration hosted by HBO Max with the original Philosopher’s Stone returning to cinemas around the world once again. And in an exciting new announcement, Harry Potter has unveiled "Veiled By Pride," a unique limited-time event you can check out now (via X).

Veiled By Pride is a brand-new special event for the long-running Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery mobile game, challenging players to put their Hogwarts House pride to the test through a series of magical trials. The newly released adventure revolves around four competitors, one representing each House, who must tackle four trials before facing a final challenge.

Although there is naturally a competitive element, the event apparently has another wrinkle, with players also needing to cooperate with their rivals. The time-limited side quest is divided into four parts and features familiar Hogwarts Mystery characters as House representatives, including the likes of Barnaby Lee, Tulip Karasu, and Nymphadora Tonks, with the exact lineup changing depending on the player’s own House.

Completing the full adventure rewards players with Gems, Chocolate Frogs, XP, and a collectible House Crest that appears in the Hogwarts Trophy Room.

Originally released in 2018, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is a free-to-play narrative RPG for iOS and Android that lets fans create their own witch or wizard, choose a Hogwarts House, attend classes, build friendships and rivalries, and unravel an original mystery set years before Harry Potter arrives at the school.

It's a highly rated mobile game on both the App Store and Google Play, and if you haven't had a chance to dive in, it's the perfect time ahead of Back to Hogwarts day this coming September.
