Latest Gazette Notice: Government Names New Board Members Across Key State Agencies

President William Ruto and several Cabinet Secretaries have announced a series of new state appointments and tenure renewals across key public agencies, according to official notices published in the Kenya Gazette on Friday, October 9, 2026.

Executive & Treasury Dockets

Under the Executive, President Ruto reappointed Job Chirchir as the non-executive chairperson of the Water Services Regulatory Board for a three-year term starting October 14. Ruto also extended Titus Kipkoech Korir’s tenure as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Forest Service for three years, effective October 14, alongside renewing three-year terms for four members of the NEPAD/APRM Kenya Governing Council: Francis Habara Moroto, Habon Billow Farah, Joseph Kimutai Boit, and Rusiana Makasi Mitau.

At the National Treasury, Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi reappointed former MP Olago Aluoch as non-executive chairperson of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) Board for three years, alongside board member Masitsa Naomi Shiyonga. Mbadi also appointed Kevin Owango Onyango and Dennis Miskellah to the Local Authorities Provident Fund Board of Trustees and extended Gerald Okoko’s directorship on the Kenya Trade Network Agency board.

Health, Energy & Agriculture

In the Ministry of Health, CS Aden Duale named Luka Chemwolo to the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) Council for a three-year term.

Over at Energy and Petroleum, CS Opiyo Wandayi extended Jane Masai’s seat on the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) board for another three years, effective October 14.

Meanwhile, Agriculture and Livestock Development CS Mutahi Kagwe renewed John Karuru Mwangi’s directorship on the board of the Kenya Animal Genetics Resource Centre for three years.

Environment, ICT & Lands

Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry CS Deborah Mlongo Barasa extended the terms of Jane Simita Munka on the Kenya Forest Service board (effective October 14) and Metett Kibet Robert on the Kenya Forestry Research Institute board (effective October 9).

In the ICT docket, CS William Kabogo Gitau reappointed John Kieru Wambui to the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication Council for a three-year term.

Finally, Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development CS Alice Wahome appointed Mugendi Geoffrey Moses as non-executive chairperson of the Physical Planners Registration Board for three years, revoking the appointment of Peris Chepchirchir Mang’ira.
