The Traitors 2 controversy: Parul Gulati’s “gut feeling” under scanner after Shahneel Gill, Krystle D’Souza make “match-fixing” allegations

The ongoing drama surrounding The Traitors India Season 2 has taken a new turn, with contestants Shahneel Gill and Krystle D’Souza making allegations about a contestant allegedly receiving inside information during the game. While neither contestant named Parul Gulati directly in their initial statements, their comments appeared to point towards the actress, whose repeated “gut feelings” about the Traitors have already sparked discussion among viewers.

In a video shared on Instagram, Shahneel alleged that one contestant's “shadow” — a production-assigned person responsible for assisting contestants with their requirements — was allegedly paid to leak information from inside the game. She questioned how the contestant's “gut feeling” about the Traitors repeatedly turned out to be accurate.

Shahneel claimed that contestants initially believed they were witnessing an unusual level of intuition, but alleged that the “gut had a source”. She also described the alleged practice as unfair to the other contestants.

Krystle later backed Shahneel’s claims, saying she was “shocked and furious” after allegedly learning that a contestant and their Shadow had discussed the identity of a Traitor. She questioned how someone could make such accurate decisions purely based on a “gut feeling”.

Parul subsequently appeared to respond to the allegations through an Instagram post. Referring to the show's Circle of Shaq, she wrote, “This is circle of shaq all over and guess what, I am INNOCENT, AGAIN!” She also used the hashtags “Digital Witch-hunt” and “I am Innocent.”

Parul had previously correctly identified Harman Singha and Krystle D’Souza as Traitors despite, according to the show’s proceedings, offering little concrete evidence beyond her intuition. Harman was eventually banished, while Parul was later eliminated in the Circle of Shaq.

The allegations have yet to be independently established, and it remains unclear whether the contestants’ claims are genuine or part of promotional activity surrounding the show. With The Traitors India Season 2 currently streaming on Prime Video and more episodes yet to arrive, viewers will be watching closely to see whether the makers or host Karan Johar address the controversy.
