Kylian Mbappe leaves Nike to sign with Swiss brand On

Kylian Mbappe has ended his long-standing deal with Nike and signed with Swiss brand On, the French star said on Friday.

He announced the partnership in a post on social media, and he will become part of the company’s first expansion into football boots. This puts an end to a relationship between the France captain and Nike which dates back to 2006.

“I have followed this dream for as long as I can remember. Once again, it has led me to one of the biggest changes in my life. Now, I find myself surrounded by innovators who dream of the same things I do,” he wrote.

“(Mbappe) will be at the heart of On’s football journey, uniting one of football’s defining players with one of sportswear’s most innovative brands,” On said in a statement.

“He will work directly with On’s product teams, integrating his elite perspective into the development and testing of future football footwear and apparel. He will also become a global ambassador for On, extending the partnership beyond football into movement, performance and contemporary design,” it added.

The company also announced that former French forward Thierry Henry has been appointed its Director of Football after spending a year working behind the scenes. It has also managed to get the signature of Barcelona women’s team midfielder Sydney Joy Schertenleib and plans to launch its first football boots in 2027.
