Fair Sunday weather in most parts of PH; ‘habagat’ to affect S. Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon or “habagat” will prevail over the western section of Luzon while the rest of the country is expected to have fair weather with chances of rain on Sunday, according to the state weather bureau. 

In the 5 a.m. weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio also said that no low-pressure area or tropical cyclones were monitored in and around the Philippine area of responsibility.

“Mahinang habagat ang nakakaapekto sa kanlurang bahagi ng Southern Luzon. Ang habagat ay inaasahang makaapekto o magpapatuloy na makaapekto mostly sa western section ng Southern Luzon bukas hanggang sa Miyerkules,” Aurelio said.

While most parts of Luzon will see clear skies, Aurelio noted that isolated rain showers are expected due to thunderstorms.

Palawan, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro will also experience cloudy skies and rain showers due to the habagat. 

The Visayas and Mindanao will also experience fair weather with possible partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers due to thunderstorms.

No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboards.
