Newly Invited Super Eagles Striker Ilenikhena Pose in Super Eagles Shirt

Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia striker George Ilenikhena has confirmed our exclusive on his invitation to the senior national team of Nigeria with his latest post on social media.

The 20 year old who was born in Nigeria but grew up in France decided to pledge his international allegiance to Nigeria, after talks with head coach Eric Chelle.

He has been in terrific form for Al Ittihad since the start of the season with six goals in his seven games in all competitions. A form that has earned him a first time call up to the Nigerian team.

Super Eagles will begin their campaign to be at the 2027 AFCON with a home tie in Uyo against Madagascar on the 23rd of September before traveling to keep a date with Guinea-Bissau four days later.

Ilenikhena confirmed his invitation with a post in his Instagram handle, where he posed in a Super Eagles shirt. A day after he told us in an exclusive chat that he will be with the team for the above mentioned games.
