Police seek public help in locating suspect in Sablayan shooting


CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspect who allegedly shot a 22-year-old man in the head in the Occidental Mindoro town of Sablayan on Sunday night (Aug. 30).
The Sablayan Municipal Police Station said the shooting incident occurred at 9:50 p.m. at Purok Masipag, Sitio Malunggay, in Barangay Santo Niño.
The police’s initial investigation identified the suspected gunman as Eduardo Agason De Lara, 31, who remains at large. The victim’s name has not been released nor the full details of the attack.

The Sablayan police urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could lead to De Lara’s whereabouts to immediately contact the police station.
Information may be relayed to the Sablayan MPS through 0921-272-9615 or 0998-598-5842, or by personally going to the police station.
Police reminded the public not to approach or confront the suspect and instead leave any action to law enforcement authorities.
The police said information from the public could help investigators resolve the shooting case and hold the perpetrator accountable. /mr
