Translate

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Flower prices in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, have increased by around P10 to P30 ahead of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, or Undas, prompting vendors to offer bundled arrangements as more affordable options for customers.

A bundle that previously cost P75 now sells for P100, while a P100 bundle has increased to P200. Arrangements previously priced at P300 now cost P500 and include assorted flowers in different colors and a container.

Chrysanthemums, Malaysian mums, roses and anthuriums remain among the most popular choices among buyers.

Despite the price increases, customers continue to buy flowers to bring to cemeteries in remembrance of their departed loved ones.

Estomata said flowers and candles are traditional symbols of love, respect and remembrance, helping families honor those who have passed away.

“Bringing flowers and candles is a core way to connect with family members who have passed away,” she said.

Some customers have also started buying flowers early to avoid the expected crowds in the coming days.

Vendors said prices could increase further on Nov. 1 as demand for flowers is expected to rise. /mcm
